Once the mural is finished I pour water on myself and scrub my body against the wall while dancing to the beat of the song Siboney by Connie Francis, partially washing off the paint. Redecode: a tropical theme is a great way to create a fresh, peaceful, relaxing atmosphere (2015) digitally pixelated image printed on wallpaper 18 x 9.25 ft Museum of Contemporary African Diasporan Arts (MoCADA) and El Museo del Barrio *Redecode appropriates and pixelates wallpapers designed in the 40’s (Brazilliance by Dorothy Draper and Martinique Banana Leaf by Don Larper), coinciding with a period of American military insertions throughout Latin American and the Caribbean. The wallpaper contains QR codes linking to related text, collage and images in the internet.
