As a painter when I shifted my interest from figurative work to abstraction, cityscape, construction and exterior have always been dominating the content of my work. I use architecture facades and surfaces as a foundation, and juxtapose architectural elements with commercials and advertisements. I borrow the language of the act of postering and de-postering as my painting language. By interrupting a pre-existing form I use the interruption itself as a reforming tool to create an abstraction.
I tend to reconstruct from arbitrary and unpredictable forms from industrial residues, accumulate layers between transparent and opaque marks, and seal them with pronounced, defined edges. The final looks that are presented are familiar to our day-to-day experience of confronting or being in a space yet in a slightly disorienting way.
These forms fit eye level and human scale. I took open and anonymous marks from unexpected places and put them onto the canvas with the desire to make a complete unity in my language of painting.
